On a cold windy day in Smith Center the JH track team competed really well. The 8th grade boys placed 2nd overall and the 7th grade girls were meet CHAMPIONS!
Home opener for HS Baseball tonight! Games start at 4:30pm hosting the Clay Center Tigers. Come out and enjoy some baseball! The Junior Class will sponsor the BSB/SB concessions this spring. Tonight they have pulled pork meals along with all of the normal concessions items!

Mrs. Shaft's Kindergarten had two special visitors in class on Friday. They enjoyed Mystery Reader with Mrs. Shaft's daughter, Brynn. Mayor Shaft also stopped by and talked about being mayor and following rules.

The first three sessions of Cosmosphere have begun!! We have learned about how space affects the body, how to safely land on the moon in our lunar lander, air pressure, and building a parachute.
Mrs. Sanders' class had our "Oaks" join us today! The students had fun reading and playing a math game called "Pig!"

Students in Mrs. Shaft's Kindergarten Class are hard at work developing their reading skills. Every day, they use DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) Time to practice in their books. If you ask any of them, they will tell you, "Readers are Leaders!"
Mrs. Shaft's Kindergarten Friends had a blast at Theatre Salina! They attended the musical, Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The cast did a great job! No pigeons were found on the bus ride home!
