As the sun rose over the eastern horizon this morning, the first sounds of the day were not the typical hum of school buses but rather the deep, powerful roar of tractors pulling into MJSHS.
Marked by rural high schools across the Midwest, Tractor Day is the culmination of National Future Farmers of America Week, which takes place every February. This year, due to mother nature, MJSHS students had to reschedule the celebration. On Monday, March 10, approximately 5 large tractors made their way to the south MJSHS overflow parking lot.
Beyond getting to drive their tractor to school, MJSHS students gained a deeper appreciation for the hard work and dedication required to run a farm, with lessons that go far beyond textbooks. Whether it’s the mechanics of the tractor engines, the importance of sustainable farming practices, or the challenges of rural life, the event opens doors to real-world knowledge. Young drivers are reminded of the responsibility that comes with farm life, understanding firsthand the significance of the equipment that sustains our rural communities. Thank you for exhibiting FFA Lion Pride!
