My name is Kristina Harris, but many know or remember me as Kristina Nelson. I spent my Junior High and High School years locally on my family's farm. I am a class of '98, USD 239 alum. Much of my family still lives in the area. After many years in Wichita, my immediate family and I moved back to the area with a desire to be closer to extended family and to enjoy small town living. Jesse, my husband, and I look forward to raising our two children in this community.
I am a veteran teacher with most of my experience occurring in middle school classrooms. I have taught in several districts, but before coming to Minneapolis the bulk of my time was spent in Maize as a 7th and 8th grade Language Arts and Journalism instructor. I am also a volleyball coach and the director of programming for the Minneapolis Rec Commision.
I graduated in 2002 from The University of Kansas with a Bachelors in Education. I also hold minors in English and Social Sciences. I am certified at many levels and have taken lots of continuing ed courses from other institutions to stay current in best practices. However, I will forever be a Jayhawk!
